A hand-stitched thobe rarely stops being wearable — it simply stops being worn. When a piece has finished its season with you, Kanz will take it back in exchange for store credit through our thobe buy-back, or keep its tatreez alive in another form through repurposing. Each is arranged by conversation, piece by piece.

All Sales FinalEach piece is made by hand and no two garments share exactly the same measurements. For the best fit, take your own measurements carefully. These are your body measurements, not garment measurements — please measure yourself as you are, without adding any extra room. We add the ease when we cut your piece. A larger garment can be altered by your favourite seamstress, but a smaller garment cannot be made bigger — please be careful on that point. We do not alter garments and we do not accept returns. All sales are final, so please be sure your measurements are accurate.

This is a hand-embroidered Palestinian thoub (thawb), made by hand using traditional tatreez (Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery). Measurements: Length 60.5in - Chest40in - waist 39in- hips39in - sleeves23in - shoulders 15in Worked on crepe, a fluid luxury satin-weave with a soft matte drape. It is the dashdasha style, a loose flowing cut with embroidery at the collar and the hems. The embroidery carries the cypress, or sarw, a symbol of endurance, mourning, and the evergreen continuity of life. Each piece is worked in the fallahi cross-stitch (tatreez) that forms the backbone of Palestinian village embroidery, each stitch counted by hand. A contemporary Palestinian design that draws on traditional tatreez vocabulary while speaking to a modern wardrobe. From the Modern Grace collection.. Care: hand wash or dry clean only. All sales are final.

Cared for thoughtfully, a handcrafted piece is meant to last generations. A few essentials for this one:
Mind the embroidery
Hand embroidery catches easily — keep the stitched panels clear of rings, watches, and hook-and-loop fastenings when dressing.
Store with care
Fold along the existing creases or use a padded hanger, and keep the piece away from direct sun and damp.
