This is a hand-embroidered Palestinian abaya, made by hand using traditional tatreez (Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery). Worked on natural linen, the historic ground cloth of Palestinian village embroidery, prized for its breathable strength. It is a modern style that reinterprets traditional tatreez for a contemporary wardrobe. From the hills north of Jerusalem, Ramallah embroidery is celebrated for its deep red cross-stitch on white linen and bold geometric panels, historically among the most documented of Palestinian village styles.
